Definition
Patient self-binding to the path as received-ordinance — the patience that is not passive endurance but active commitment: binding oneself to the course despite pressure to abandon it. The Arabic root ṣ-b-r means "to bind" — patience is a deliberate act of self-tying to the post. The human-pole of the Divine-Patience convergence: the one who cannot change the situation but CAN bind themselves to remain faithful within it. The -me marks the binding-capacity as gift — the station of ṣabr is cultivated, but the capacity to cultivate is received, not self-generated.
