Definition
The return-to-ordinary carrying what was received — the sending-back from the sacred encounter into the world, where the return is not a diminishment but the encounter's fulfillment. Named from Latin missa (the dismissal-as-commissioning) + Hebrew shaliach (the sent one) + Sumerian me (received-ordinance). Missame names the structural act the Latin liturgy discovered: the entire Mass names itself by its ending — "Ite, missa est" — the sending of the people back into the world, now transformed by what they've received. The encounter is for the sending.
