Named from the free-energy principle (Friston 2006+) + Sumerian me (received-ordinance). Agents minimize variational free energy (long-term-average surprise) via perception (update model) and action (change world). The continuous-substrate-process that makes every act of grasping (noemame, sphoṭame, eurekame) possible.
